Professor Mike Neary, the University of Lincoln’s Dean of Teaching & Learning, and the Director of The Graduate School, will be hosting the conference.
Scott Davidson
Opening the 2013 Postgraduate Student Conference, Professor Scott Davidson, will welcome all delegates to the event and talk about the importance of postgraduates within the University.
Stephen McKay
Distinguished Professor of Social Research Stephen McKay recently joined the University of Lincoln, from Birmingham. He will be delivering our keynote speech on ‘A Craft of Research: A View from the Social Sciences’.

Cancer: A suitable metaphor for workplace bullying. Keith will demonstrate how undertaking research has helped him to make sense and come to terms with being bullied at work and more recently being diagnosed with advanced cancer. Both of these aspects of his life have informed each other and encouraged him to remain positive on his personal journey.

Kelly will be displaying her poster on fuel fraud, titled ‘Tackling fuel fraud with research’. Highlighting illegal activity on currently used fuel dyes, such as Red Diesel, and will also include information on the development of a portable detection system.

Her presentation is titled “Comparative Analysis of the Energy Performance with Respect to Sustainable Parameters within Leed, Breeam and Griha Rating Schemes.
She aims look into sustainability more clearly and globally and simultaneously scrutinising the difference in the existing interrelated sustainable parameters.

Sam Metz

Sam’s presentation is titled “How to Observe the City User”. She is seeking to discuss the problems associated with isolating examples of specificities of technological practice from the ubiquitous realm of the technological environment.
Her poster presentation seeks to unpack the creative potential for human discourse through the lens of technology, the city and the body; whilst problematizing a research process that extracts and delimits the territory of that expedition.
